Being huge and buff leaves a lot of the target audience to rot in the dust, but I dunno, I'm not a small guy by any means. Not saying to make the MCs fat (even though that would probably better represent most ppl complaining about this), but just making them more "dude"-like would be more relatable. I can't imagine most Japanese men are like 5'4 110lbs, but I dunno. I don't live there, and I suppose more teenage boys watch anime than grown adults, and any other demographic for that matter. It's hard to find a middleground no matter who the target audience is I think.
