A Couple of Cuckoos

Would Sachi be anywhere as popular as she is right now if she had the exact same personality but was not related to Nagi in anyway and was instead his school kouhai rather than being his (NBR) sister? Is her being an imouto really the main reason behind her popularity? If we took away that aspect from her would her popularity really drop like a rock?

Hiro > Ai >>> Erika > Sachi

We hate Hiro here

A meaningless hypothetical question. Her personality wouldn't be what it is if she didn't grow up with Nagi as his little sister. She would be a different person.

Erika = Nino
Sachi = Yotsuba + Itsuki
Ai = Miku
Hiro = Ichika

Brocon-like kouhai characters exist in manga and anime.

Sisters best girls.

Fuck off

Who and did they grow up with the MC since they were babies and are driven by a real brother complex?

>fuck off back to Any Forums
Okay.

You probably haven't read that many manga or anime if you have never encountered kouhai characters calling the MC or another senpai boy "onii-chan". The example I'm thinking of right now is some obscure manga called Hyoujou ga Issai Wakaranai Shirogane-san, but other examples exist.

And yes, the two characters grew up together. They were childhood friends.

You're skirting the question. Younger girls in a school setting often refer to older MC senpai as onii-chan is typical and not unusual because that's a part of Japanese culture. It also doesn't mean they have actual brother complexes. Those girls are not imouto characters either. At best, they merely evoke a desire to protect a younger girl that as my little sister kind of feeling.
>childhood friends
Most of them don't play the role of imouto because an imouto character typically exists alongside a childhood friend in the romance and harem genre.

Not in the manga I'm talking about.

>obscure manga
Good for you.

But, who won the poll? Why is Miki and editor-san delaying the results?

It's either Erika or Sachi.

Poll results when? And as for your question, being NBR might make her unappealing to incest purists, but she did grow up with Nagi as his little sister in a relatively normal household. She's an imouto for all intents and purposes, but I think her initial popularity trascended a simple imouto status and tied more into being the unexpected victim of the craziness of the situation, and her character being heavily affected by it (fear of brother being taken away, contrasted with her new joyous relationship with her long lost sister). It's the unique situation she was in that endeared her to the readers.

So you're saying if she wasn't an imouto, she'd nowhere near be as popular?

I read somewhere that poll results could be out next week but I don't know if that's true or not.

We ship Matsuda x Sachi here

No, you're trying to make people say that for some reason and no one knows why.
>would [Character] be received differently if they were different?
Firm maybe.

Hiro won the poll
