Is it just me or this anime completely lacks of logical plot points between each episodes?

It has them. But it is indeed hard to follow.

some aspects are kinda cryptic for the first 2/3rds of the show but it becomes clear if you stay until it ends. i liked the art direction a lot. some of the pacing is weird but overall i forgive it for its faults and think it's a B+ anime overall.

Been watching anime for 20 years, but this is the only show that really, truly embodies the navel-gazing "stand in awe of how DEEP and SYMBOLIC" stereotype that at lot of shows get saddled with. Ergo Proxy really is that pretentious, that in love with itself.

Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence is worse because it is quotations for half of their dialogue, it took forever for a just movie.

Completely? No, there's only a handful that abruptly throw the characters into situations without showing what lead up to it, and in those instances it's because they're being fucked with by Proxies and are under the influence of their abilities.
All other ones are clearly connected and linearly follow the preceding one.

Ergo Proxy is one of my most rewatched shows.
And no, i don't even think it's that good, it just gives me a very pleasant feeling of comfort for whatever reason.

Atleast the quotes weren't random nonsense unrelated to the current situation like in any other anime/movie every quote was fitting and not just shoved there to sound smart. There were too many though.
