I started watching it with little to no expectations, and I found it to be pretty cute and wholesome. Anya is adorable and funny, Yor is cute and tries so hard, Loid is a good guy. It's far from the best anime I've watched, but it is really wholesome and comfy. The only cringe thing I've seen so far is Yor's brother. Not everyone needs edge to like something.

Has a cool premise that it executes well. Anya is lovable and feels like an actual child while not being obnoxious. Yor's murder autism and poor social skills make her cute. Loid makes the perfect straight man, and his efforts to get his wife/daughter to not be idiots is both funny and tense. There's a good balance between plot development, world building, spy action thriller, and wholesome family moments. The fact that each of the main cast has their own supporting cast/story to work with (Loid's spy organization, Yor's company/coworkers, Anya's school) makes the show feel content-dense, and it has a ton to work with so things don't get dull.
It's hardly the best anime ever, but it's popularity isn't surprising at all. It's just a well-made show with good animation, pacing, and characters.
