The hard one is Lily's good end. It's not even a good route so getting to the end is an accomplishment in and of itself. But the penultimate choice is just so goddamn retarded. It all hinges on whether or not you tell her about the note. In what fucking universe is it better to tell her your crush sent you a letter? A letter you promptly threw in the trash? From a girl that you as a person have had absolutely zero fucking attachment to? The choice is easy, just don't even bring it up, it means fuck all to both you as the player and Hisao as a character. But for some reason they decide to punish you with the "bad end" if you "lie" about it. It's so fucking stupid. I hate her stupid route. It's literally only good as a vehicle for Hanako's development. In every other aspect it's the most boring, cliche, and uninspired route by far

It's not about lying, it's about transparency and letting someone you love know when you're weak or struggling. Lilly's whole arc is about letting herself be vulnerable in front of someone else. How is she supposed to feel safe enough to do that if Hisao isn't willing to do the same with her. Hisao says he doesn't care about the letter, but I'm pretty sure he thinks about it later on in the route. Whether it was important or not, it was still an issue that was a burden on his mind. You sound like you're just upset that you got the bad end

I only got through three routes in the game back in the day, and part of the reason, in hindsight, is Lilly's route. In fact, I'm not sure I ever stopped to think that there was two separate endings for her, and that the good ending was just that bad.

I got the bad end with almost every route. Most of them I could understand where I went wrong but in Lily's case it genuinely seemed like it was just a really shitty conflict that came out of nowhere. In fairness, I think I was already bored by that point, and I had played almost every other arc prior, where the letter has no importance whatsoever. I was not by any means on board with Hisao's mental hang-up regarding it and I was not willing to even put myself in that position. The disagreements surrounding Hanako were a lot more interesting to me and in my mind it came out of nowhere and I gave it no mental bandwidth. I can see what you're getting at but I don't think it was executed well at all.

The good end is not much better. It's a very boring, almost humorously cliche end.

The first time I played KS I got Lilly's good ending. I made the choices I would've made had I been in the same situation, and I happen to be a pretty honest and transparent person, so the choices and endings made perfect sense to me. I think it'd be really difficult to see and understand every girl's point of view, maybe you and the Katawas just aren't the best matches. Nothing wrong with that
