Worth watching for the kino ED song:

It's boring, but you aren't doing any favors by watching shit like Gosick.

All I remember about this anime is the protagonist yelling VICTORIQUE in his effeminate voice that cracks

I don't think Gosick can even be called a mystery anime. The case were pretty bare bone. It is more a romance show

Thank god I watched Dantalion instead

Just when I thought OP couldn't get any gayer

Gosick is worth it tho. God i love victorique.

Actually dropped it when the ED changed, MC was extremely retarded

Depends on the mystery. Depends on the tension, comedy, acting, animation quality, pacing and on your interest in subject matter at hand. I feel the same about romance. But obviously the execution is more important than the concept. You're talking about an anime based on a LN. Do you understand that there's no reason to be reading a LN when you wouldn't read a regular mystery novel? You call it an anime when it's clearly a LN.
People clearly disagree with you so why do you care to voice your opinion as some sort of altruism? Any hack-writer can cook up a mystery as a writing exercise. There's so much I doubt you've even read Sherlock. Imagine anybody thinking Gosick is good having actually read their fair share of mystery? It's simply not possible. There's so much fiction out there. I don't really understand getting hung up over this particular one. If you didn't like it, move on. Chances are you are right, but what good will convincing 13 year old retards on Any Forums do you?

NO! You are the most boring shit on the planet!

Kino OP too.
This.
I almost forgot about this one, All I remember is that it was extremely similar to Gosick and that the ending was creepy as fuck.

How Gosick should have ended:

* MC gets called back to Japan by his clan to go fight in World War 2. Commits war crimes in Nanking. Finally gets blown up by glorious Soviet artillery in Manchuria.

* Victorique's family is arrested by Communist revolutionaries. She manages to flee to America. Lacking any practical skills do to being a noble lady, she resorts to living off prostitution. Eventually dies from syphilis in a back alley. It takes days before her corpse is found.

b...based?

Mystery anime is trash
Mystery is only good when read

thank God you are not the author.

Cake.

What's Nanking?

It's the logical ending given the sociopolitical backdrop of the story, which is based on the sociopolitical environment of the early 20th century IRL.

I'm fairly confident the author was leading up to a tragic ending that went along similar lines (obviously not the dying of syphilis part) before their editor reminded them that that shit wouldn't sell.

I was very impressed with the mysteries initially because they were clever with clever solutions but after a while it descended into the common garbage of making someone seem smart by just having him make improbable guesses that turn out to be right and not explaining how he deduced it.

But at the start, Victorique figuring out that the gun came from the bag after holding it and realizing that it was about the mass of a gun lighter, estimating the prior mass from how it swung around in a circle, that actually sells 300 i.q.. It's a conclusion that makes sense and is not some wild guess.

Still, close pseudoromantic friendships are the purest form of love. It's so good that I can forgive Kazuya being a self-insert.
