What does Any Forums think of Space Dandy? Please elaborate instead of just posting "style over substance" and if you didn't like it, then I'd be really intriqued to hear why.
What does Any Forums think of Space Dandy...
He looks dumb
I want to fuck the (female) vacuum cleaner
very fun show and a great animation exhibiton. more plot would've been nice. really suffered by lacking a fourth crew member. it shined the most with scarlet and honey were around full-time.
great dub cast. dialogue could've been workshopped to be funnier.
Style over substance, too American but not in a good way
Watanabe's best work
"Style over substance" is like a filtered opinion that tells me I should discard whatever else that person has to say.
If you cannot recognize that style IS substance you are too stupid to be giving your opinion on any form of media
I like it. It's kind of like an anime version of spaceballs/hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.
based and correct
I would personally rate Champloo slightly higher but that's just me
One of the best shows I've ever watched.
We just had a thread for dandy, and it was probably you who made it. And what type of fucking thread is this anyways?
>Please elaborate instead of just posting "style over substance" and if you didn't like it
Do newfags really feel the need to force negativity into their posts for the sake of (you)'s? Your assuming that "Any Forums" doesn't like it right off the bat. Unless you meant that "style over substance" is a good thing.
Anyways, yeah it's amazing. It has it has it all. Despite it being episodic and having a different director each episode, the entire experience felt coherent and each director respected the foundation they were given to work with. One episode can be a silly romp dealing with the possibility of dandy's from multiple dimensions merging into one, and the next can be postulating about what happens after we die. And despite the difference in tone, the pacing is seamless and not jarring. It's a ubiquitous rollercoaster that someone can enjoy at least one episode from. Thanks for reading my aniblog
It's pretty good. It didn't really speak to me but it was still a fun watch. There were some episodes with incredible highs (I loved the time loop one) and some lows that were just "okay whatever." I remember liking the first half of the show much, MUCH more than the second half, and the ending felt kind of forced honestly, but overall I'd give it like a B+.
Final thoughts: I love the OP size version of the OP and was pretty disappointed by the full release of the song.
>I remember liking the first half of the show much, MUCH more than the second half
Reverse for me, I enjoyed the first half very much. But the second half ten fold.
>the ending felt kind of forced honestly
How? What does that even mean, especially for the context of dandy's 4D Ex?
I just didn't get much out of the ending. It felt like "okay, we've gotta tie this whole thing together somehow" but didn't really plan to do so from the beginning, so the 4D Ex was introduced and they went from there. I think I would've liked it more if it had just been another regular episode honestly.
Not all the individual stories were memorable, but the project is a worthwhile celebration of various talented directors, animators, and writers in the industry. Given the ever-increasing blockbuster-ification of anime where producers keep digging up established IPs to revive and throwing money at any upcoming Jump title, creative endeavors like Space Dandy may no longer be possible in the TV anime space.
Felt like a zoomers take on Cowboy Bebop which failed to understand what made Bebop good was its sort of deadpan and simple look on things in a world with a lot to see and that they were Bounty Hunters trying to stay out of poverty and starvation. In Dandy though it fucks around a lot and gets wacky and zany about it with shit like time loops and being trapped in a Penguin.
Nah I disagree, I think the 4D Ex was a chaotic and perfect way to close off the series and to put a nice bow on all the season 2 episodes. It gave the episodic nature an explanation that fell in line with the rest of the show. Also it wasn't sudden, I'm pretty sure the last few episodes allude to her existence before showing her. Let's not forget, she was always there. And lastly, it ends perfectly because even though dandy was given the option to be the god of the universe, he sacrificed it all to keep exploring the galaxy with his bros. And now, the multiverse has no god. Epic ending to an epic show
>you guys aren't allowed to have fun!
>z-zoomers!
Stop giving CB fans a bad name, it's not impossible to like both.
they're really not even comparable shows. the only similarity is "episodic adventure in space". once you accept space dandy for what it is it becomes a lot better. it's not about moving past your shattered youth. it's about a dandy guy, in space.
>Watanabe's best work
is bebop.
It's an interesting anime for me cause half the episodes knock it out of the park, while the other half are mediocre.
Overall though I do love the series because the 10/10 episodes more than make up for the meh ones. Also QT's voice is qt
