>Charizard
>subs say Lizardon
Charizard
>Jewman Bolto
>subs say 100,000 volts
It's Don Lizard
>character says “last name-san”
>subs say “first name”
But that's a correct translation...
>onii-chan
>translated as little devil
>Call him by his name Arararagi
>He snaps at me
>character speaks without notable quirks
>subs invent distinct speaking style
>character has kansai accent
>y’all
Yeah, American English in fiction is bad enough when the author is actually American.
>Matrubates to cute and funny loli art
>Gets called pedophile
>kamimamita
>I fwubbed it!
based
This grinded my fucking gears in Bleach dub.
who does this, google translate voice to text?
>oni no onii-chan
>devil boy
I'm a huge subs original fag and even I think English names for pokemons are better
Well yeah, because you grew up with them
There are a few English names that are better simply because if you know English, some of the Japanese names are really dumb and taken directly from English.
>Character say onii-chan
>Subs say their name
>Shy, newly wed couple who are still using honorifics
>Husband-san, good morning!
>subs say Mr Husband, good morning!
Get the fuck out. Mr and Miss is not a good replacement for -san and -kun. Especially in a high-school setting where classmates refer to each other with -san and -kun all the time.
but lizardon is the proper name, murrican dubs are shit.
>anime says "hokuto lackey"
>dubs say "Takeshi Helper.
>subs don't bother with honorifics
>until they do
>character clearly says "Hi"
>subs say "Yes"
You're really telling me some professional got paid to do this?
