Why did the quality of anime go to shit in the 90s? It's never recovered since. The 80s were literally perfect.

>comparing OVAs to TV anime for the 20988428th time
I fucking hate retrofags so goddamn much
Everything was better in the 80s. Video games, anime, movies, fashion, architecture, music, people. It was the peak of human expression.
>old good new bad
Don't you cucks get tired of pushing this meme?
I wonder how many newfags will fall for the bait
mecha? for me, it's tomino
Right is an OVA where the entire budget is on one singular production. Left is a tv series where the budget needs to be spaced out over at minimum 12 episodes, which is a significantly greater undertaking. This is the case for every one of these retarded comparison pictures.
> differnce
For me it's the drill the pierces the heavens
This thread sucks ass.
>comparing TV to OVA
neck yourself
difference between 1980s threads and 2020s threads
Peak video games was from mid 90s to mid 00s though.
Economic stagnation.
That being said 80s tv anime really did not look that much better than 90s anime, and honestly the actual technical aspect of the drawings and overall aesthetic of anime got better by the 90s.
After stuff like Akira came out everything started changing.
The average 80s show looked like pic related for most of the episode run time and then you'd have maybe some impressive sakuga in there.
These are the same show
Left is from Gundam Wing's first OP
Right is from Gundam Wing's updated first OP from later in the series but not quite the 2nd OP
old bad new good posters do not watch anime.
>shitposters spreading falsehoods for (You)s
no way, that would never happen
Don't reply to me you worthless iphone nigger.
literally take your meds
what do you think about l-gaim?
i'm still like 15 episodes in and it's kinda boring at times, xabungle was kinda the same but then when they started to wreck shit up on that innocent dome, i liked it again.
Educate yourself.
L-Gaim is like a prototype for Zeta Gundam, I like it a lot better than Zeta, but it does get boring at times.
It suffers a lot from being a series made in the 80s, it just has a lot of 80s mecha conventions that drag it down.
The show could've cut 10~15 episodes and been much sharper.
If you haven't seen much 80s anime I'd say it's worth a watch just to get an idea of what an average mecha series from the time was like, but there's nothing really remarkable about it.
Well except for the loosely related Five Star Stories which is the other thing that L-Gaim was the prototype for, now that is something interesting that's worth watching and reading the manga of.
Also I liked L-Gaim's characters, they were a pretty fun cast to watch.
Because you're a fucking retard newfaggot, stock footage was common even in the 80's.
the only 80s anime i've watched and am watching is Tomino stuff (like Ideon, Dunbine, Zeta), still in the middle of L-Gaim, Xabungle and ZZ. Just finished Zambot 3 days ago and it was marvelous.
zambot is 70s.
