Anime is good for original Steins Gate but its worth reading the VN for extra interactions with the gang, other worldlines and Okabe's internal monologue.
SG0 is garbage so don't bother. People will tell you that its the adaptation that's bad and you should read the VN, but as somebody who has watched/read both I can tell you its just badly written.
