I’m going to answer my own question. I liked Z Broly in Movie 8 better than I liked Super Broly. I prefer him as a villain compared to a good guy, especially because he is so powerful. Super Broly is cool though.

Z as long you exclude the sequel movies. The z broly was a chaotic villian and the Broly in super is just big dumb idiot who spergers out.
Z brolly has more potential of having an interesting character arc if he were converted into a good guy because the most interesting characters in dragonball as a whole were characters that were either villains or on the verge of becoming villains but somehow through goku's nature he stopped them and was the catalyst for turning there life around.

Nuly is way more faithful to the original saiyan design than oldly. Oldly is too pale and clean looking to be a saiyan, he lacks the edge other pure blood saiyans have. Being swarthy, scarred, and dirty fits a warrior monkey more. Oldly looks more like some estranged prince from some shoujo manga.
