Is Kamina the most overrated character in anime history?
Everyone keeps sucking his dick 24/7
he always said that simon was the one with the marrow, not him
> no super powers
> no special destiny chosen status
> still filled with insecurities
> and somehow manages to btfo the general one last time despite being mortally wounded
> dies with a smile on his face
> inspires the cuck simone into becoming an actually chad
Nah, he based and chosen one self-inserters will never understand
He's literally the reason Simon even became something.
The Dai-Gurren brigade wouldn't have formed without him leading them. Simon would've happily kept digging holes in the ground waiting for the day a cave-in killed him like his parents if he didn't inspire him to actually do stuff. Even if he had jackshit in spiral power or actual fighting power, he directly inspired other people to act for a better life than what they had, and in turn inspiring even more people to follow their lead, paving a path for them to follow unto the future just like Simon did for him.
Watch the show again, they literally spell this out for you.
He's not overrated at all. You're just too stupid to figure out that despite him having a tiny pool of spiral power he still manages to revive himself from death and do the series' first giga drill break. In terms of proportionate power level nonsense that makes him one of the most powerful characters in the entire series given that he vastly exceeded his potential on one final attack. His real impact on the series is turning Simon into a man.
TTGL really is too good for powerscaling shounenbabies.
This
Love this trope
Kamina was a retarded idealist. He put Simon and the others in danger many times.
this user will never be based
>Implying using logic would have worked.
You have missed the point where having hope and a loosely made plan was subjectively better than have a plan and fall into despair when it didn't work.
The reason he is valued is not because of his fighting prowess. His value was his personality, his charisma bringing together a team, and his inspiring motivation of the characters at critical moments.
If someone rates him as "great fighter", sure that's overrating him, but that isn't why Kamina is remembered so universally.
I don't get the hype behind this guy? Was it a you had to be there to get it deal?
To be fair he did also become a pretty solid fighter by the time of the battle for Dai-gunzan. He went from getting his shit absolutely pushed in by Viral the first time they fought to fighting him on equal ground completely by himself.
Viral was the first miniboss.

>Was it a you had to be there to get it deal?
Now with a little perspective? Yeah.
The whole TTGL was like this.
Watching it along with Any Forums back in the day on nicodouga as soon as the episode dropped each week was an experience you had to feel.
Watching it alone or on a binge does nothing for this show.
>the endless WWWWWWW scrolling across on nicodouga
>dumping on episode 4
>the unending hype as the finale got closer and closer
>when planets and galaxies started getting smashed and everybody was losing it
Definitely a lot of the love is nostalgia generated, I think it still holds up, though.
Fair.
>Watching it alone or on a binge does nothing for this show.
I watched it alone, but still weekly, because my work schedule at the time. It was still really hype-inducing: getting the feeling of "What is that crazy glasses guy Kamina going to pull off THIS time?", maybe even rewatching an ep again during the week, and maybe discussing with one of my friends afterward.
It stretches out your relationship with the character a lot more. I imagine that binging the show would degrade the emotional impact, both positive emotions and negative emotions.
