1. Forgettable one-dimensional villains like Santa Claus, Bat Devil, all those devils that basically has no character at all.
2. Aki barely had any panel time, he had 1 (one) genuine bonding moment with Denji which was kicking some rando on the ground. His whole arc was like someone fast forwarded through an entire anime and skipped right to the ending, it was so rushed. He barely even did anything with Power despite them being the main trio.
3. Power barely had any real character moments and the friendship shit at the end was MHA-tier. Also her design is ripped off from that shitty Zero Two bitch.
4.Kishibe is cool but doesn't get to do anything and is one-dimensional as fuck. Same can be said for Himeno, The Halloween girl, Quan Chi, etc.
5. The bantz between the cast is pretty weak despite how quirkily they're drawn.
6. Relationships are again hit with the fast forward button, the journey is what matters, not the destination. But Fujimoto just rushes everything, for example Reze and Denji don't actually have a fleshed out relationship. They met each other for a very short period of time, only met a few times but the manga pretends that we have some ebin dramatic relationship that deserves some profound moment. Nah, there needs to be a journey for the climax of an arc to work.
7. Battles aren't strategic but that's not even the main offender. They're just boring and have dull choreography. Denji's powers are actually very limited and not creative at all, it's just more regeneration shit. Even the conceptual eating of
8. Chainsaw Devil isn't really used in a combat sense and he just uses regeneration more than anything which is what Agni and fuckton of MCs have. Denji doesn't have an identity, maybe being a simp for 98% of the manga but that's not a good identity.
Chainsaw Man is cool and all. The concepts in it are great but the manga itself sucks, this is Shingeki all over again.

Not every negative opinion is being contrarian, this is pure cope from shills. Chainsaw Man's writing is very weak and the fanbase can never refute most valid criticisms of it. Denji is pretty much the only well developed character in the story, the reveal of what was behind the door was underwhelming, he has plot armor for the whole fucking manga too. There are good things about Chainsaw Man but even those have some shit smeared on them.

Losing battles doesn't mean the character has no plot armor, that's not what that means. Actually it even supports my point because the bitch would have been dead if he didn't have said plot armor. Also, Denji just conveniently meets and befriends the strongest fucking devil that the main antagonist someday would worship, just because? And he had Pochita from the start so he was basically plot armored for the entire manga.

It's not plot armor because it was established from the very beginning that hybrids can only die if you destroy their devil core. This is a core concept of the story. Also, he can still die if you destroy his core, Fujimoto could kill Denji off for good in part 2, so it's not even real "plot armor" anyway.
