Just binged this. It was okay but what is the big fuss about? We don't see much of Yor's side past the first episodes, she's relegated to some retard comic relief. Whereas Loyd is treated more seriously but he also suffers from the lack of interactions to play off. Anya is fun enough but doesn't grow as a character past being the token mascot. I don't get the popularity at all.

The reason for its popularity is its novelty (there's seriously no other premise like it) and how it manages to take little bits and pieces from good stuff in the past like Yostuba, Aishteruze Baby, shoujo school manga, The Pacifier and even 60s spy movies
The writing is far from a masterpiece but it's a really fresh experience for many anime/manga fans that just want something different

Kaguya is well-executed visually and has great writing at least to the point that it adapts in the manga, but will they/won't they high school romances with student council members as the main cast is something that's been done before, even if they're not as good as Kaguya
Also it's comedic style is very witty, banter-type humor that has a lot of meta-references, it doesn't tell the same type of jokes as Spy x Family whose demographic ranges from five year olds to grandparents
