I don’t see how they can continue to stay relevant the way the power levels are going. If the story is being based off the legend of Momotaro then Boruto might end up off-planet to where the Otsutsuki dwell, why would snek or salad go with him? If they stay behind though they can end up being important to maintaining order back home (whatever that looks like). If Sarada really is that popular the anime writers will give her something to do.
