Kinda. I remember being younger and people talking about Di Gi Charat and I thought it was like a way bigger deal than it was. It's only a 2 episode OVA. I guess they were mascots for a gamestore which is cool, but I guess watching this will be worth it somehow.

I hope it doesn't lose the comedic aspect. Most of the appeal was that it was a gag-manga-style show making fun idol and otaku culture, on top of being cute.
I haven't see anything in forever capture "gag manga cuteness" (deformed, sarcastic, exaggerated characters), that's all I'm saying.

Define "remake". The original was an episodic gag comedy. Nyo and Panyo were different scripts with the same characters, so this is probably going to be another new script with new gags.

How so? There's some ragging on otaku that the average person might not get, but other than that it is mostly random slapstick and humor based on Dejiko being an inconsiderate cunt.
