Not in the mood for anime

Have ever been so depressed and bitter that you couldn't physically enjoy anime? I tried watching Lucky Star today for the first time and the first second just irritated me to the point I had to close the media player. Any advice?

take a break

from what?

Anime is an escape, when the escape doesn't work, get on solving whatever problem you have.
I recently got fired from my last job, so I have to find a new one. Anime helps me escape but it does not help me escape

>Anime helps me escape but it does not help me escape
Typo, it does not help me find a new job

But my life is fine right now. I just have been mad and stressed this entire day for no reason

go outside (i know it's scary)
stare at a tree for half an hour

Watch something you know you'll like instead of something new

also helps to be barefoot or directly touching soil somehow or some other electrical earthing point

Try watching less moeshit garbage and more good anime.
I used to want to not watch anime because I thought I would spoil the experience by watching it while depressed
Turns out taht my enjoyment of an anime depends more on the quality of the anime and less on my mood.
Now I just watch one anime after another without giving it a second thought. and there are a lot of 6/10s and mind numbing experiences but also alot of genuinely great anime as well.

Quit porn, exercise and try to watch more classic cinema and read literature for variety.

If you have access to a park/ nearby forest, or any place with foliage and clean air then go out for a jog, listen to some music or whatever while you're at it, appreciate the nature around you, then you'll feel better.
If possible, try to also workout, it produces a different but satisfying pleasure.

Basically here's the mentality you should go with "If I am depressed and can't enjoy things anymore then I rather try to seek out good anime while being mind numb than twirl my thumbs while being mind numb".
After a while you it all becomes trivial again like watching television as a child, you don't have any expectations, you don't mind if an anime dissapoints you, if you watch a good anime great it feels good, if you watch a bad one you just forget about it in a couple days.

This of course applys to other media and life experiences in general. I rather do something than just sit down and twirl my thumbs/scroll instagram..ect

An*me is for depressed losers by defnition
If you do not enjoy it, thsn it means you grew up

I don't use Any Forums

You are right user. I watched the first few minutes of the anime and it was painfully boring. Literally nothing happened. Should I watch Gundam 0079 instead?

It doesn't matter what you watch the important thing is that you strive for this mentalityI thought Gundam 0079 was a 7/10 but for someone like you it might be a tough investement. Watch the recap movies if you would like to get into Gundam.
I say that it doesn't matter what you watch but it should be something interesting aethetically/narratively. Follow the Any Forums charts look for things that look interesting to you and don't feel discouraged if an anime disspoints, there are plenty more to try out.
You'll watch 7/10s 6/10s and even some 2/10s , 1/10s taht will give you a headache but as long as you keep watching you will come across some 9/10s and 10/10s that will reignite your love for anime.
At least taht's what happened with me.
