In the movie/anime: Goku gets excited and wants to spar with them and says they gave him a reason to climb higher. Vegeta would probably make an off-handed comment about how it was about time Gohan did some training and used his real power for once.
In the manga: Goku still acts impressed but Vegeta takes it as a challenge and transforms into UE, so Goku transforms into UI. They smash Gohan and Piccolo and send them back to fodder status like always.
Calling it "training" is a bit much. He just terrified the shit out of him and beat him up. Then gohan got scared of nappa and piccolo died. When goku trained gohan he became the strongest being that ever lived.
