It spoils Ougi surviving the confrontation in Owari S2, and Kaiki just shows up again 2 episodes after he lies about dying.
All things considered I feel like it should be watched after Owari S2 and before Zoku.
Kanbaru's friend having a name and introduction makes me feel like she had content cut from the anime. (I know she's in later novels.)
The end of the OP makes me feel like I have tetanus every time.
Karen still wearing her middle school uniform despite being a high-school student (I think that's right?)
Araragi isn't attracted to Kanbaru anymore. (He got neutered, no other possible explanation.)
The relatively low stakes remind me of Bake- and Nise- Monogatari so it has that going for it.

I find it hard to point to exactly why but the novel is so much better, makes it a 10/10 arc on par with Neko White and Hitagi End.
Hana is far from the worst of it but the anime doesn't do Kanbaru justice in general after her introduction arc, she has so much going on beyond being Araragi's funny pervert friend. Blowing Shinobu the fuck out in Owari is probably her best scene in the adaptation but that comes so late it's hard to imagine it changes how people appreciate her.
