Think this was the first anime that caught me completely off-guard. I only had this with Watership Down before when I was 4/5, Queen Millennia and Noir and such could be dark too but there I knew it. This here looked so different. I always remember that scene where the wounded friend was lying in a bed and the series makes you believe she was still somehow fine, but then MC tries to get her up and her whole back is glued to the bed with all that blood and wounds and shit she has and you knew she would die.
I really liked that series. It's one of those anime I absolutely cannot imagine to ever be made nowadays.

Damn I didn't know that many anime that I loved were airing in that very year.
I remember how I was in an anime forum back then and only had one guy to talk to about Gun Frontier of which I was kind of a fan of but nobody else.
Also, I miss Bee Train and old CLAMP so fucking much.

Has anybody watched Piano? That could be good too. A lot of other series on this list were fucking great.
