I like Akira's stuff in general. Otokojuku is pretty popular, but the rest of his work (like sora yori takaku here) rarely gets discussed. It's a shame, it's funny, manly, and does a good job subverting the usual tropes without going overboard (... arguably I suppose). Good pacing, too, and widely different 'feel' to the various arcs so it doesn't really get stale.
