it's a shame it goes so unheard of in the west at least
nihei is arguably an equal with miura in terms of art and atmosphere desu

Yeah. I like the atmosphere of Blame more. A shame I didn’t enjoy Nihei’s other works, he had gold on his hands but decided to create the most generic stories after.

nihei worked in construction before becoming a mangaka and also went to school for design in new york. he has a sense of architecture and megastructures unlike any other mangaka

Blame got a high-quality 6 volume release in my language, which is more than can be said for the overwhelming number of manga.
