Is this manga shoujo or not? Everywhere, on all websites, it says shonen in the tags. It's also published in Shonen Jump. But it has a typical shoujo drawing style, the protagonist is a girl and the guy is just a walking cliche made for satisfying female wishes.

Seihantai na Kimi to Boku - title's name by the way.

>It's also published in Shonen Jump.
No, it's a Shonen. That's what the word means. Genre or artstyle has nothing to do with it.

that's not a shojo artstyle.
the character have too much meat, and are too short. definitely aren't pretty enough, and there aren't roses in the background of every other panel
out of curiosity, why does the demographic matter to you? you do realize you can enjoy things that aren't aimed at you.
something to consider is that people have a variety of tastes. even to narrow the taste of young boys to "action series with heroic leads" or something is a bit disingenuous. did you not have or dream of romance as a child? regardless, some people do.
another thing to consider is that due to the nature of people having a variety of interests, its typically in the best interest for a magazine or company to try and appeal to as many people as possible, target demographic or not.

It's shounen because it's published in Shounen Jump+. Demographics aren't genres, they don't specify anything about the plot.

You've never read a shoujo in your life.

I like that they become a couple right from the start. Just hoping it won't end up like another manga that established their relationship from chapter 2

How does it look shoujo? Lol
This is how shoujo looks like

That girl's design looks like a typical male-pandering design. I don't know how anyone on Any Forums thinks that if they keep reading shonen jump hard enough they'll eventually read a shoujo manga. Go read fucking other magazines for fuck sake.

The cover makes her look more "male-pandering" than the actual manga. It's pretty in line with "modern girly manga" artstyles, which aren't the same as classic shoujo magazine artstyles.

>shoujo drawing style
Have you actually every looked at shoujo art?

>guy is just a walking cliche made for satisfying female wishes
From his appearance alone, no?

Stop trying to force this meme down everyone's throat. You just look like the biggest newfag. Lurk more. Read 100 series. Just fuck off.

Maybe not the girl, but the guy in that cover is blatantly drawn by a woman, to her taste. The eyes especially give it away.

You know it doesn't have to be literally Ribon inhouse style to recognize it as shoujoesque right?

Eh, at best it's like a shoujo gag manga type of style. Feels more Twitter or Pixiv comic-esque if anything. It doesn't give off the same feeling Skip to Loafer did.

Also Jump+ serialized Hana Nochi Hare which got that classified as shounen as well. It's the magazine that gives the final say anyway.

>the guy in that cover is blatantly drawn by a woman
He's a plain-looking nerd.

I really like the feMC, she's not exactly the cute-but-down-to-Earth type like Marin/Shikimori/Anjou, she's a hypergremlin in most pages.

As interpreted by a female mangaka drawing a BF simulator manga. It's very obvious if you have any familiarity with manga art styles.

It seems like you're projecting some kind of weird politics and assume all shoujo or otherwise female fantasy-inspired manga are about gigachads, but that is not the case. Once again, if you have familiarity with manga like this you would instantly know.

>the protagonist is a girl
Ah, sweet summer.

Yup she actually feels fresh and not just like the typical feMC

Isn't this basically how Nagatoro is shown? Also I've read some shoujo manga where the main character is like this too.

Yeah, I don't think the MC of this manga is -that- unique. I like that so far the manga's been pretty light about the ""issues"" characters have, sometimes romance manga written by women go way overboard with the first world problems and overblown self-pity. That recent one about the rich girls' school and poor boys' school next to each other with the baker boy and short girl comes to mind. So melodramatic over nothing.

Still it would be nicer if the back and forth was more engaging between the leads. Instead of them kinda taking turns having dialogue or acting out while the other pauses and reacts.

Congratulations on your awakening. This is trend right now.
>Make a shoujo
>Call it a shounen/seinen
