World tree

I dont get it
why did being cut with the behelit sword transform the emperor in "god" mode into the world tree?

causality

Who knows. Berserk isn't about making sense, it's about drama, violence, and cool imagery.

Ask Mori, I'm sure Miura told him 30 years ago.

Ganishka was reincarnated trice, first with the godhand, second with his DIY factory, the behelit sword strike was the third. Everytime a person gets reborn in Berserk universe, a part of them gets anchored/planted deeper into the spiral/astral world, and him having survive 3 reincarnations ended up anchoring his massive physical body together DEEP within the astral realm, forming a bridge of sorts.

with ganishka, the behelit sword, and femto all being directly involved in this, it would be a bit strange if something crazy didn't happen

you're not meant to get it

The world tree is a gigantic crack in the world layers, when Ganishka transformed he took the form of that fissure, when the Skull Knight slashed him his body transformed into a gigantic gateway, fusing the worlds together.
