Nozomu Itoshiki is depressed. Very depressed. He’s certifiably suicidal, but he’s also the beloved schoolteacher of a class of unique students, each charming in her own way: The stalker. The shut-in. The obsessive-compulsive. The girl who comes to class every day with strange bruises. And Kafuka, the most optimistic girl in the world, who knows that every cloud has a silver lining. For all of them, it’s a special time, when the right teacher can have a lasting positive effect on their lives. But is that teacher Itoshiki, a.k.a. Zetsubou-sensei, who just wants to find the perfect place to die?
Please be forgiving for any mistakes during today's chapter; I'm anyway from my home at the moment. My laptop is shot, and I don't think I'll be able to fix it, so I brought the Ubuntu tablet I haven't used in months to dump the chapter. But for some reason, it would tell me the battery level or even whether it's charging, and my Bluetooth keyboard just died, I don't have any compatible chargers at the moment, and the tablet's on screen keyboard isn't working either. So I switched to dumping on my phone. Hopefully these scans look alright; I had to grab something quick.
this chapter introduces a new recurring character, Sento-kun! Sento-kun is a mascot character designed by the city of Nara and announced early 2008, a few months before this chapter ran. You can see his regonizable antlers here . Of course with Kumeta, this isn't the full story. Sento-kun was a hot topic throughout much of 08 and on after many religious groups were in uproar over such a "blasphemous" depiction of the Buddha. Plenty of people just found the design straight creepy too. Out over 5mil yen in taxpayer cash, Nara had no intention of going back on little Sento-kun, and he remains their proud mascot today. There's also 1 Tsunetsuki, 1 pantyshot, 2 Uropen, 0 Amakudari-sama, 1 Miss Sakurai Yoshiko, 1 stork and baby, 1 stick dog, 1 black tear, 1 Mr. Asou Tarou, 0 Mr. Abe Shinzou, 2 eye of darkness, 1 AAA, 1 god sticker, 0 Kiyohiko, 1 Nyannyan, 1 funny sticker, 1 "The manga world shall be at peace." and 2 Sento-kun. Itoshiki Chiru (Itoshiki Metsu, no idea why he's named Chiru but he is) shows up. What Kumetan has to say about the god sticker this time: "You did this before? God?"
