Shiona got like 3 bits of merch in their 20th anniversary, two of which were shared art with other heroines (Kanade and Yumemi). Low popularity is probably the cause, it isn't exactly KEY's best work, probably their weakest VN during Hinoue's tenure as character designer.
It's just frustrating because as I've posted so many times in Key related threads when not Tipifagging, Rei is the only Key protagonist from that era we know almost nothing about. We have more shit on the Junker, who doesn't even have a name, and before the anime didn't have an actual appearance. All we know about Rei is that he has an exposed robot hand, is emotionally stunted, and hyper-analytical if all his internal monologuing is anything to go by.
We don't know what accident happened that lead to him getting the mechanical hand or why he was put in the stasis pod.
We don't know who he was before the stasis or why he apparently looks like Shiona's brother. I guess it doesn't really matter considering the themes of the story, but still.
We don't know how he went about restoring empathy to the world after Shiona's death. That shit it grade A drama CD material.
