It's a trainwreck of misery and depression that you can't look away from. I have no regrets, loving it.

Yeah, you can argue that this is soap opera or whatever, but every interactions within each characters built up in each others, with every new revelations recontextualized earlier chapters. Truly superb manga

Abyss sucks you in and you're just along for the ride turning pages to see how much more it can devolve into madness. Haven't caught up but desperately hoping we get more from these two.
Completely agree, I've seen people get upset claiming it's just "tragedy after tragedy", but each turn is set up prior to so it's not just asspull writing.
The characters and backstory's intertwine and flow from one page to the next it's brilliant.
You never think "Oh that was uncharacteristic of ___" it's always properly set up and you constantly know something is off with each person that connects with Reiji.

She's a shit - but I can't help but enjoy her on whenever she's on the page. (Except for maybe her flashbacks thus far, I prefer when she's in yandere mode.)
Yuko finally commits double suicide, but instead of going to heaven or hell they get isekaid! While she's trying to gain her bearings and perhaps learn how to use a cheat skill or two, Esemori is seen slinking off to go flirt with the elves.
It's talked about plenty. If you put it in your filters, you'll see. For manga like it, there's Aku no Hana, Punpun, Molester Man, and Welcome to the NHK.

abyss bros... anyway where can one acquire the sales number from shoseki, not just the ranking?
Aku No Hana and Chi No Wadachi will scratch that "country boy psychological misery porn" itch

Yikes I hope it's selling well, I know Viz Media just picked it up for Spring 2023. Would love to see it survive a full English translation for the collection.
