I don't know what raw mtl entails but I OCR'd the text bubbles then dropped it into google/deepl and sorta mingled both outputs. Then I just slapped it on the page.

Google unironically. I've noticed this but other OCRs can put lines of text in the wrong order. Because google's OCR highlights in order of what you drag your finger across, it's much easier to make sure the text isn't being rearranged.
However, all OCRs are bad with certain fonts or text over certain artwork. In those cases you might as well be using google translate on your phone to write the text with your finger.

Google, either photos or lens on desktop. When I'm doing artist cg's I normally have to greyscale the image to get the text properly, but it works better than other ocr's where it doesn't matter if I greyscale.
