Finished this manga earlier this morning and what a blast. One of my favourite for sure. I really enjoyed the characters and the dynamics between convicts and Asaemon. The mystery surrounding the island and the Tensen. Really great. Fights were good too although it became a bit boring during the very last part. I really liked the Tao system at first but then when you get to see that each element hinders another and without the proper element you can't really kill a tengen on your own I found it a bit unpractical but it helped develop the characters and the way they have to cooperate to defeat them.
Jigokuraku : Hell's Paradise
7/10
its hxh but actually kinda good and well drawn
I don't rate things I like, but I feel like the author really managed to give a complete experience. I don't feel like it was rushed or anything like that. And that alone is a good thing. Although the very last part of the manga was a bit weird
I saw some similarities indeed. But HxH is more technical and combat focused. I prefer the potential that the nen system has over the simplicity of Tao. However I feel like the author of Jigokuraku could've give more special capacities to his characters. More creative things like with nen
I really like his art
will mappa fuck up the anime ?
Kaku is such a good mangaka it's a shame ayashimon failed
6/10, lost focus in the second half and tao is shit
Great start
Meh middle
Wasted and rushed ending
The premise and art saved the manga but everything else was either bland/shit.
There's no time for that, the story of Jigokuraku takes place on a island and finishes on an island, there's no outside of that.
Compared to HxH it's a contained and short story, nen still gets developed by Togashi ever since Greed Island and gets carried over to future arcs. Tao appears and is used on the island where the entire story takes place and that's it.
Okay, but when will the anime come out?
>it's a shame ayashimon failed
He should've made Urara the main character.
Or serialize Prison Princess
Trailer really looked good but release won't look half as good I think.
yeah fair enough
>has lots of hot guys
>token yaoi pair
>yet MC still remains a chad loyal to his waifu
Ayashmon was beter
Was garbage
Doesn't look good to me. Overpowered MC with average isekai protag design. Not for me.
It was a great small scope story. I enjoyed it greatly. I know some Anons here didn't like it that much, but I really love character-driven, focused stories like this. It was really solid all the way through. Pic related was such a memorable chapter.
I knew this guy was overpowered from the get go. Really liked this character and his philosophy
no
>the very last part of the manga was a bit weird
is one of those "east culture" stuff that is difficult for westerns to understand.
>it's a shame ayashimon failed
its his own fault really, namechecking other manga is a real turn off, also not enough cute lil yakuza boss loli. it idea of punching out the essence is kind cool, shame it came 3 issues before the axe
