Yu-Gi-Oh! thread

Did Ryo consider Yami Bakura to be his friend? He was very protective of the Millenium Ring, despite knowing how evil it is.

I'm pretty sure the ring was a memento to him. Not that a cursed artifact like the millennium ring can actually be gotten rid of because it's part of destiny.

yeah some moments he acts like a protective yandere stalker to pharaoh yugi

Wow I should read manga's version of Duelist Kingdom, this definitely wasn't in the anime

Ryo was protective of it because of his dad. Not yami.

There were like 5 of them running around.

Why is it always the same schizo who creates and bumps the threads? I'm pretty sure he replies to himself too

He was always into occult and spooky stuff before that ring took him over.
Also isn't the Dragon-schlong demon just that Egyptian that got enslaved and nearly sacrificed for power by Atems father?

Zorc was another form of people's darkness. Thief king Bakura was the last survivor of the thief village that was previously the Egyptian tomb builders. and they were sacrificed by Seto's father Akehenaden. Atem's father was unaware of how the millenium items were made until later, then he offered his life up in repentance to the egyptian gods. And of course yugioh mixes history and myth into the fiction, because Akhenaden was the actual pharaoh in real life.

Bakura was Moses and the people in the village were hebrews.

Damn always knew something was fishy about him.
Dude must have used tons of hair gel to straighten his hair and underwent nose surgery in Korea...

well there's a lot to that. It's a spin on the jewish mythology that they were slaves. But also akhenaden was the pharaoh who tried to install a monotheist system for egypt and was possibly the source of the idea of jews being monotheist. And of course jewish worship of dark deities could possibly be gleaned from the manga if you really extrapolated out from that.

Well they had to introduce bakura wholesale in that arc so they couldn't put a scene where they had past arcs together.

Why was Bakura sidelined so hard?

He's a supporting background villain. He's already overemphasized in the last arc. Kaiba just had too much influence for him to be the big focus of the manga.

No one would ever want to post in a bakura thread.
