Shame it turned out to be yet another shitfest

It's funny because all the early threads were just people whining they were watching for Eiko and she was overshadowed by Kongming, then she got more spotlight and people hated it.

False. Kongming and Eiko were loved. Kabe ruined it.

do you retards still get unironically suckered in by a meme premise like this? It should be clear to you by now that anime and manga are full of shitty series that focus entirely on the first few chapters because that's the only way to stand out and make money. Plot and catharsis are never considered, only maximizing the intrigue and duping idiots like you into thinking that a crazy premise is good just because it's crazy.

The thing is, I still don't know why Kabe was added to the cast. What as the payoff, there? Kabe's antics, thusfar, have zero impact on Eiko's story so its weird that Kongming went out of his way to recruit him. Kabe doesn't work with Eiko on anything, he doesn't help her with her vocals or lend his creativity and rhyme to writing her songs. They don't sing together, he plays no instruments. There were a bunch of ways he could have been integrated to hero story but he just... wasn't.

The original premise also just sort of gets lost in an increasingly generic up-and-coming singer story. Kongming adapts to the future so perfectly and so fast that he ceases to become a character, he just becomes an enabling plot device. He has no arc or dillemma of his own to deal with, despite the fact that in this situation he should have a hundred of them. Imagine, for a moment, that Kongming comes up with a strategy to help Eiko that he only realizes is flawed halfway through because of some aspect of modern technology he just didn't know existed because no one told him, and has to change and adapt the plan in the heat of the moment to prevent disaster. Give him something to DO besides be a cheerleader and explain that this was all according to keiaku (translators note: keiaku means plan) at the end.

Kabes entire contribution was rapping like two sentences before Eiko started singing. Completely pointless character but I kinda liked the rap battle episode at least.
