I used to work with volunteer groups to DM dungeons & dragons at a lot of cons before I sperged out and lost my friendgroup due to multiple autistic meltdowns when I was off my bipolar meds
before that happened though i had a blast. sakuracon was always fun, anime fans have a strong sense of fictional characterization and comedic timing and I never ended up playing with anyone as cringe as you would expect. most people there were there with friends who acted as a stabilizing element so they tended to be reigned in. never even had anyone rp a blatant ripoff of their waifu or anything.
