God help me, I'm going to try watching this again for the first time since I was a teenager in the early 2000s.
What am I in for? Also just Inuyasha thread in general.

i read it recently and was pleasantly surprised it is okay, not the best thing in the world and sango is cute. after i finished yashahime had just been announced so i watched it but that was way worse...
Binged the entire series 3-2 months ago and liked it. It was my first "long" anime series but I found it very good overall. The initial few episodes in the Final Act were just rushed but besides that I don't have many complaints about it. Yashahime was pretty good as a continuation despite what Reddit and "le new bad" fags will say.
You WILL have a fetish for long black hair by the end.
was my first long shonen show but heres how i rank it now
The first 3 or so seasons are very watchable, then it turns repetitive and it stars looking very ugly.
I think the biggest change from teen to adult is when young you'll probably hate Kikyo. As an adult, her very existence is hilariously tragic to me to the point that I just feel sad for her. That girl exists to suffer.
I binged the manga half a year ago, was actually quite good.
would rather watch something else for that many episodes but you're probably in for some beautiful cel animation
At least she gets to bully Naraku a couple of times
Read the manga instead. Unironically.
don't read the manga, the best episodes are the filler.
150 episodes of nothing happens and the rest is maybe a dozen of pretty good episodes
It still holds up but I wish there were some way to watch it with adult swim bumpers at the commercial breaks
Also they bicker a lot more in the anime which honestly I prefer over "Inuyasha and Kagome are basically a soft couple by vol 7 but then Rumiko proceeds to do NOTHING with it until near the end"
Inuyasha is one of those series you watched because you were young and didn't have anything else to watch. You are now a grown ass man and have access to every anime that ever existed. Why watch a shonen demograhic show.
Also, it's futitle because you stand no chance at making it through the later episodes. I recall being bored to tears as I forced myself to get through the filler episodes. Even as a brainless kid I knew it was trash compared to the earlier episodes.
The best episode was filler.
Here OP, this is also you really need to watch.

It's simply perfect
i learned to appreciate my black hair because of this series and have kept it very very long for awhile now
I've been going through all the shows I saw as a teen, seeing how they held up. I was surprised that Trigun was just "ok", while Outlaw Star is legitimately one of my favorite anime of all time even after a rewatch.
Naraku was the most annoying villain in all of anime history
>HAHA, INUYASHA, LOOK AT ME BEING A DICK
>Naraku! Stop being a dick and get over here so we can fucking fight!
>NO
>GET OVER HERE DAMN IT
>PTTTHHHP
>WINDBACKLASHADAMANANTHOLEINSPACE SLASH
>Ah fuck! You dick, I just made that body! Good thing my head conveniently escaped all the damage. Barrier motherfucker, and have some bees ontop of it, and you know what, miasma, cause just fuck you man.
>DAMN IT NARAKU, THIS IS LIKE THE 30TH TIME YOU'VE DONE THIS, GET BACK HERE SO WE CAN END THIS SHIT
>NEVER, COME TO ME MY DISTRACTION DEMONS, WATCH AS I VANISH BEHIND THESE CLOUDS. ILL GET YOU NEXT TIME AND YOUR LITTLE JEWEL TOO, YOU SHIIIIIIIIITS!
>HEY INUYAHSA REMEMBER HOW YOU GOT THAT RED PAINTJOB UPGRADE THAT BREAKS BARRIERS?
>WELL FUCK YOU, I AINT EVER GONNA GET CLOSE ENOUGH TO LET YOU HIT ME WITH IT
>BUT IMMA STILL KEEP MY BARRIER UP, EVERY TIME, ALL THE TIME, EVEN WHEN IM SITTING ON MY ASS STARING AT THE CEILING
>WHY? BECAUSE FUCK YOU, I CAN
Any excuse to post that pasta
I haven't seen Trigun in a while but I recall it being my 2nd favorite Toonami/Adult Swim show behind FMA original. I rewatched Rurouni Kenshin, Outlaw Star, Sailor Moon, and Gundam Wing and none of them lived up to my nostalgia. FLCL is probably the only series I rewatched that lived up to my expectations.
My issue with Trigun was while it had good character writing, it failed to do anything of note with its setting. By contrast OS not only has great character writing but it put a ridiculous amount of effort into its worldbuilding and it informed the plot of every episode. The only real flaw is its overarching narrative was little more than a treasure hunt, much like how Cowboy Bebop was at its best when it WASN'T trying to just ape yakuza film genre movies.
Inuyasha's greatest achievement is giving an entire generation of western men a fetish for long, black hair.
