i wish more people ripped off kindaichi
There should be more detective anime and manga
Making detective plots sounds way harder than making a battle story
Why is Conan so much famous than Kindaichi? I think Kindaichi is better. Is it because the lack of main antagonist like BO?
Shorter cases maybe, also way more cases.
In a way a Conan case is like a Sherlock short story while a Kindaichi case is like a Poirot novel
wider marketability
yes it should
Why is longer case bad thing? It adds more to the case no?
Didn't Kindaichi have a main antagonist too? I remember a magician or something. Is he kill already?
It's the same reason why procedural dramas are so popular.
Supposedly Conan is enjoyed both by the kids and the parents who watch the show with them so that might have something to do with it. The fact that Conan covers a lot of the things a kid may be into (soccer, gadgets, etc) also helps. I know when I was younger I wanted his skateboard and shoes
i feel kindaichi's cases are much darker so it may not appeal the westerners, also lack of handsome faces maybe. putting takato to jail without him escaping again and again isn't really the goal as well.
WTF I thought the west like dark thing and Nip like SOL thing.
The west definitely like darker story. I don't know what that user is talking about. Conan is more popular simply because it's shorter case and cover more ground than Kindaichi I think. Beside a kid shenanigans is more fun than adult.
Detective manga peaked with Tantei Gakuen Q
bump
never heard of it might give it a try
I don't like the organization story.
Un-go was pretty good. Id:invaded was mediocre but still watchable.
While not strictly a detective story more like then there were none type of mystery rokka no yuusha was pretty good
didn't know invaded was mystery seris
>didn't know invaded was mystery seris
The only thing that the MC remembers each episode is that he is a meitantei.
Also, 'created by The Detectives United'.
that's sounds really familiar
Yeah, it's completely another gimmick. As I said, it's no masterpiece but if you crave mystery series you'll probably find some things of interest in it.
thanks i'll keep it in my backlog
But watch Un-Go first if you didn't already, it's much better.
had heard about it before so already in my backlog
How is the new Kindaichi? Is it good? The one with boomer Kindaichi. Is Miyuki still in?
i had only read the first few cases when it came out, it's decent but since i have only watched the anime so maybe i am not the best judge
>I think Kindaichi is better
as someone who recently reread conan and kindaichi, i disagree
the mysteries just arent as good, and imagine if you had to wait 6-8 weeks for a resolution where you pretty much know the whodunit and howdunit
i have't seen kindaich in a long time but caught up to dc recently and I feel like the quality on average is better in kindaichi of course it doesn't have any equivalent to BO parts but who cares mysteries are good
and dc was made to profit off kindaichi's success
