I wish I was a battle harem protagonist

No, it was fucking garbage, and I can't wait for Isekai to join it 6 feet under too.

I just want to know what will come after this isekai arc already

More isekai. It will not stop until something huge and different comes along that everybody will want to ape, then the trend will shift.

I read DxD, but the main story hasn’t progressed for quite some time. I think Ishibumi’s health is failing.

No and I pray it stays that way. Fuck this trash and fuck you for liking it. It's literally porn without the porn, eat shit and die!

Mato Seihei has the potential if the anime doesn't cheap out.

>hope
>fun
I'm pretty sure those two went out in a murder-suicide.

Another genre of isekai will become popular. The isekai plot device is too powerful and easy to use to craft stories so it will never go away now that they've perfected it.

Is there any reason why DxD, Shinmai Maou, Musou Gakuen HxH and the rest stopped getting anime adaptations? I heard Shinmai Maou even was finished with sex scenes on the Light Novel.

>Seven Arcs

Isekai adaptations are just pump-and-dump schemes to make a quick buck from dumbass Japanese teenage high/middle school boys with shit taste. They were never meant to be good-faith presentations of a narrative (not that these shitty properties ever had any).

>DxD
Shit got four seasons plus a bunch of OVAs, user
>Musou Gakuen HxH
Low effort satire/gag of the genre from what I remember
>Shinmai Maou
The Isekai Cheat Magician of the battle harem genre

>This shit was super fun and better than isekai.
No, it was the exact same shit and people were sperging about it the same way they're doing about isekai now, you only miss it out of nostalgia.

It's the same shit.
Literally.
There're also a shitton of isekai/reincarnation stories where the dude goes to the magic academy, if that is what you're missing.

Battle harems were less copy/pasted and a little more creative than isekai imo. This resulted in more hit-or-miss while isekai is pretty consistent but also a little more generic.

With isekai everyone seemed to 'click' with a single formula and put out the same shit with different lipstick.

it's not the same, isekai isn't as ecchi as Battle Harem.

The last Battle Harem I remember making a splash was because it was being published/got an anime literally at the same time as a similar show that copied all of the characters down to individual tropes.
>Main girl is vaguely Ojou who is a prodigy
>Main character has some weird not!power that lets him beat the Ojou
>Little sister character is slightly yandere and has an androgynous best friend who gives a lot of exposition.
And I think both had the next introduced harem member have an underhanded technique/backstory that was slightly unveiled after a terrorist attack or something.

If I want a Battle Harem, I'll go back and finish Freezing, even if the MC stopped being the MC eventually at least it understood that I wanted the Harem to actually battle, and the MC to be proactive/special enough to take on a supporting role rather than always being a generic nice-guy chosen one.(heck, when I dropped Freezing the MC ended up being the "chosen one", but it only came up in what seems to be the final arc because of nepotism after he was basically irrelevant for ages, and his being the chosen one actively seemed to sabotage his harem because the power it granted was not nice.)

>Battle harems were less copy/pasted and a little more creative than isekai imo.
We literally got to a point where they aired 2 battle harem shows with the exact same 1 to 1 first episodes.

Most Isekai are just a reskinned battle harem
