I think it was implied that the Hokuto were a aristocratic bunch so the guy probably was related to someone in their inter-circle

He sucked cock good.

They trained him wrong on purpose as a joke. They thought it was very funny.

Now that you mention it it's true that Ken was still an infant when he was sent to Ryuken
True his techniques can't even make heads implode fully

Why was the system of handing down 4000 years worth of chink fu martial art so arbitrarily narrow and stupid? Imagine if the chain of succession broke at any point because the master failed to find a suitable student to train for the next 10 years and we're not even talking about the success rate here

They were worried about its techniques becoming widespread, so they restricted it to being between 1 master and 1 student

why is he the only one who seems to use guns? did guns just disappeared after the nukes. I mean the times between the nukes dropping and the story isnt that far away. yet it seems as if its already 100 years since the apocalypse with lack of technology and everyone returning to medieval era.

Because that's how bad the nukes fucked things up. Almost any kind of technology was lost.

>1 master and 1 student

I never finished HNK so forgive me but didn't they ken and like his fucking 20 brothers and arch nemesis also know the style?

Because Ken is very cool and strong.

Jagi Gaiden actually does a great job explaining why he is the way he is. Probably my favourite HnK spinoff.

he only have 3 brother and 1 of them was his arch nemesis that also know this style. the other 3 supposed to be forced to forget their training since ken is the chosen one to continue the style but the apocalypse happened and now there's 4 masters in the wild.

there was only 4 Hokuto users (ken, roah, jagi, and toki)
lots of nanto users though uncluding Yuria
and then the author tried to add a school that was basically "all the techniques"

Seriously, highly recommend.

The master can take on multiple students, but he's obliged to choose one of them to eventually be his actual successor.
The students who aren't chosen are supposed to give up Hokuto Shinken at that point, but if they don't the master destroys their hands or erases their memories so that they can't carry on using it or pass it on.
Raoh kills his master because he tried to cripple him for refusing to give up the art

>a fabled hero
>an emperor who almost united all of Japan
>Kung-fu Jesus

really shows how pathetic Jagi is

wait....the series took place in japan? I thought it was in china due to the obvious three kingdom style clothes for raoh's army

Yeah it's weird

He appeared too early, I think if he could tell the story again he'd make Jagi a bit more formidable as you'd except from a hokuto shinken user.

Because it was chink fu. Duh.

still larger pool than the Hiten Mitsurugi
