Serious answer, Sonic X was supposed to be marketed to Japanese in aim to make it big there, thus all the retarded inclusions like Chris and the slice of life bullshit, and all the human characters in general. After 2 seasons they began adapting Adventure but did it very half assed. Then 4Kids sponsored the entire 3rd season which was not even aired in Japan until 2 years ago because Sonic X was a gigantic flop in Japan, but a huge hit in Europe and America.
