For Fate and Tsukihime I watched the first anime before reading the VNs. I watched first the Deen anime and Fate Zero. Medusa felt like a weird character. She looked like something from Silent Hill. That's why I don't like her very much. Sakura was too bland, I don't like the name Sakura because of Naruto and then there was the thing with the worms. I saw Sakura as a bland character not worthy of heroine status that's why I was confused when Medea kidnapped her and the bondage scen. Tiger was just too silly in the Deen anime. Didn't really care for Illya in the Deen anime but I liked her in the later routes. I didn't include her because she's a loli. The way how Akiha was portrayed in the anime at least for me was unsympathetic and I think I've continued seeing her that way when I've read the VN. I've only read a bit of Kagetsu Tohya but it's on my PC. Maybe the characterization could change a bit for me but I don't really think so. I liked Saber in the Fate route and really like the hotter version of her as Artoria Lancer. I think one reason why I like Medea is because of how cute she was portrayed in Carnival Phantasm in that tennis match.
