A lot of English dub VAs have roles in western vidya too. Steve Blum, Cherami Leigh, the guy that voices Levi in AoT dub, etc. So why it is that they really suck when it comes to anime but not to vidya? Bad direction?

Anime dub scripts are written from the TL by profoundly untalented people trying to match Japanese lip flapping. It's impossible for a VA to rescue those scripts even if they're a godlike talent, and none of these people are godlike talents.

English dubs are only good when they actually stick to the manga, that requires at least the voice director and preferrably the VAs as well to be familiar with the manga material, and to be willing to recreate the original "otaku" experience.
