They know their CGI abilities are shit so they're never going full CGI on a series they're trying to sell hard. If we come to the point where it's all CGI then I'd guess there'd be drastic improvement compared to now

Just imagine what could have been if we got a proper anime and not that cgi vomit. On that note I’m skeptical about the new season of Made in abyss, saw a few things of awful cgi in the trailer. It’s shit like cheap cgi that makes me not want manga like Gantz or Vagabond to get an anime/complete anime.
