Legendary manga artist Takashi Ishii has passed away
That's not something I was expecting to hear, I knew him more for the crime films he directed, might have to dig up the followups to other films I watched by him.
Sticky?
Good one, he's not some mutt VA or Any Forumsanime so no
If we had a sticky every time some literally who died, we'd have 5 stickies every day

Damn.
Boomers are dying in droves.
dare da
Poor guy
This nigga is a both mangaka and a film director of many films - some of which are a hit in Japan
He deserve the title "legendary" but won't be recognized on Any Forums because he wasn't making moecrap and isekaicrap
Literally who?
What did he create? Say that. I don’t know some random dudes name. Also if it’s some boomer 50s manga like astroboy or golden ambassador then don’t bother.
Also, the Black angel, Gonin , alone in the night and night in the nude are prime examples of how to do noir/neo-noir.
Takeshi Kitano is one scary motherfucker in gonin.
He is known as one of the pioneers of Hentai manga. His content about violence and rape had a great impact on the manga world at that time in the 1970s. Katsuhiro Otomo, Naoki Yamamoto, and others have publicly stated that they are fans of his work.
Gonin - a 90's crime thriller that had a cult following and had a remake in 2015
Also lots of horror erotica films like Hello, my Dolly Girlfriend
>one of the pioneers of Hentai manga. His content about violence and rape had a great impact on the manga world
sounds like he ruined manga then
Name his manga works.
If I don't recognize any of them, he's shit.
many of the films he directed and/or scripted were adaptations of his manga works: angel guts, black angel, goddamn, the brutal hopelessness of love etc. Check them out, if you like his films you'll probably like the source material as well.
>gonin
i'm interested, any place to watch/download that? piratebay doesnt seem to have many seeders in it

>dude rape and gore
cringe
I'll be honest, I've never heard of this guy but if he had an influence on hentai, then rest in peace.
His art style is very different from the current manga and the content is very cinematic. I think the author of The Fable is also influenced by him.
thats cool and all but "dude rape and violence lel" is kinda edgy for my taste and according to that user he inspired more people to do it which imo is bad. art looks nice though
>Takeshi Kitano is one scary motherfucker in gonin.
literally the film and the performance that got me interested in japanese cinema
Are you kidding?
That was a major outright against Japanese censorship.
There was a time when pink films completely dominated the Japanese film industry simply because people are so damn fed up with the extreme conservatism
In fact, you can see this happen in anime too.
Have you never wondered why anime in the 90s often feature delinquent students?
It's because their parents were so controlling that their children rebelled into delinquency
Jojo, Yuyu Hakusho, GTO, Angel Densetsu, etc.
It was an entire genre of "fuck our parents" that died in the 2010s as those parents start dying and be replaced by the ones who rebelled
gonin saga is a cringe "legacy sequel" and not a remake.
