I think I just figured out why Yui was so early to school in the first episode of season 2.

Yui doesn’t have an amp at home.

She couldn’t use the schools’ amplifier while she was on her break.

She got up early and got to the club room as fast as she could because she could only bear that long a wait before she plugged in her guitar and started playing again.

K-on daisuki! Indeed. Yui, for all her shortcomings found something she loves.

Yui and Azusa ruined K-On for me. I wish Yui was replaced by her sister and Azushit never even existed in the first place.

How do you even get such shit taste?

good post, for an iphone user

Surely this means that both Ui and Azusa ruined the show for you.

Did you want Ui to end up with Yui? Well don’t worry. You’re on Any Forums. Here I can assure you that everyone can get behind your siscest ship. Just as long as you give us a satisfying uixyuixazusa love triangle beforehand.

Ritsu is not the leader because she is the best or most intelligent. She’s the leader for two reasons; she is the most optimistic and she listens to her band and follows the voice of reason.

Mio is that voice of reason. Ritsu just assumes command. So isn’t the band following Mio? No. Mio trusts Ritsu to overcome the fears Mio cannot overcome. Even tho Mio makes all the best decisions she cannot lead. Ritsu is the leader. Ritsu needs Mio because Ritsu cannot make the best decisions. Ritsu needs Mio in the same way that Ritsu is needed by Mio.

Holy shit this show is better when you’re high.

Yui wants to maybe join the Judo club because Yui is convinced that the Judo club is as passionate about their club as Yui is passionate about playing Guitar. She does not understand the Go club. The Go club says Go is the universe and Yui knows she can’t understand the whole universe. She tries the tea ceremony club only to find their tea is bitter and disgusting compared to HTT.

Yui learns that having passion about something is not the same as understanding it or liking it.

In trying out the other clubs Yui realized she only has enough in her to devote her time to the club that gives liberty to her passion, that she can understand as well as the universe and that she is never dragged down by the bitterness! Something she will enjoy always.

This show is so much more genius than I ever expected.

Maho prison arc when?

Yui has had enough. Don't come to the club meeting tomorrow.

this might be the most wrong opinion ive ever heard

Then comes the real kicker. Yui, Azusa and Ritsu check the paranormal club.

With one open and Shut door, Yui realizes that you might end up in a club that does not answer your passion, does not understand even your universe and sees bitterness in the mystery of it all. Yui and co shut the door to this club.

Yui finally realized that there was a club that was the opposite of what she wants. So she chose to stay in the club that was everything she ever wanted.

That’s not even the best part.

The best part is that in the play arc Yui relied on the supernatural club to help Yui herself when they needed a gravestone for the play. Yui understood the passion, determination and pleasure of the supernatural club, and so knew that EVEN THOUGH YUI DESIRES EVERYThing the suernatural club despises; Fame, recognition, certainty; Yui still knew that the passion of the supernatural club rivaled their own passion and so she knew just who to call on during the Romeo and Juliet headstone fiasco.

When you think about it, the headstone wasn’t even that important. What was important was Mio losing Juliette…I mean Ritsu losing Romeo…I mean…whatever. You get it!

i remember a post long ago about how ritsu is the lynchpin of the series, because without her around all of the characters would have never met. mio would've been a wallflower, mugi would have lived in her ojousan bubble, yui would've turned into a NEET, azusa would have joined another club and annoyed everyone so badly with her bitchiness that she'd have ended up a social outcast. sawako would have been forever chasing men but never nailing one down, etc etc

First of all I hav so explain to everyone how one of the greatest works of genius I have ever seen is a slice of life moe waifu anime. Second of all I have to explain to them why I too disregarded it as cheap crap made for children and knowingly or not, also for those with looser morals around sexual maturity.

He. I have to explain to them how it is one f the most ambitious and well thought out, symbolic and brilliant coming of age stories I have ever encountered.

Yui does the windmill guitar thinking it will convince The freshement to join because it is fun to do and it looks fun to do.

The freshmen don’t join because they think Yui is a show off.

This fukking show!

Azusa likely would have gone to a different school too since her hearing the recording of HTT perform was the main reason she chose Sakuragaoka.
This also connects with K-on Shuffle too.
Without HTT forming as a band, there would be no concert at the school festival for Yukari and Kaede to watch and get inspired to join their own school's light music club. They wouldn't have become close friends with Maho, Karin, Risa or Ranka. The light music appreciation society that Riko was protecting for Shinano would be shut down since Yukari, Kaede and Maho never joined.

Yuis’ strengths are too strong. They scare away the potentials. Yuis’ weaknesses are too weak. Anyone strong enough to challenge Yuis’ skill sees her childishness, like leaving a frog doll to greet prospective, and would it not be though that she or her band that would make light of such talent that she can be disregard?

This show is genius.

I can’t believe had to get this smoked just to understand Keion.

I think I finally get what this show is trying to say. Whether you’re a ne’er do well like Ritsu, a prodigy like Yui, a stern responsibility driven mind like Mio, a disciplined expert like Yui, or a gifted wealth who chose a harder path like Mugi, you can all share the same path and learn, love and live with one another equally if you can find it within yourself to care about each other.

>disciplined expert like Azusa.

Truly the deepest lore

I didn’t even know Naoko Yamahas genius until now. There is multi layered and metaphorical and even parallel storytelling in K-on.”

Nobody would get what Yamada was even hinting at if they didn’t make it past season one.
