Oda actually wrote 1 story and repeats it ad nauseum with a different bad guy over and over for 1100 chapters of One Piece so it doesnt take any effort. All he has to do is put random on a wikia twice to get what theme park island luffy will visit next.
Meanwhile every story in HxH is fully original and often even go on to inspire whole manga of their own: Naruto mostly inspired by the Hunter Exam, Promised Neverland inspired by Chimera Ants, Made in Abyss inspired by the Dark Continent introduction (each of these of greater quality than OP, imo), just to name some of dozens. That kind of genius and imagination requires time.

it was one of the best arcs though. Things don't have to be pretentious like CA to be good. Genthru vs Gon and the aftermath did a better job at establishing how weird Gon was better than Gon being enraged over Kite in CA which was understandable
