How do I find the manga that's "the one" for me? I honestly get jealous when I see the strong connection people can have towards a manga. Their favorite manga. I have the connection to works in other media like anime, movies, and games, but I've never felt it towards a manga. despite reading and enjoying a lot
How do I find the manga that's "the one" for me...
Read a lot of manga. Now fuck off.

If you didn't find one in your teens you never will. The magic is dead
>step 1: have high iq
>step 2: read hunter x hunter
it really is that simple
If you had it with anime, maybe search a manga in the same genre. you don't have to force yourself to find it, it will come naturally.
I disagree, a lot of my favorites I found in college.
Honestly, just read more, and avoid isekaishit and shounenshit. Simple as.
don't worry, people who actually read lots of manga don't have a "the one"
there's too many great manga in the world to jerk off just one
berkserk is just baby's first dark fantasy, they don't know any better, you shouldn't envy them
Manga is just an inferior medium. Read LNs or VNs instead.
Look for random outliers that get recommended and try reading those. It took me a decade of playing platforming games to realise that I hate platforming games and actually like slow paced jRPGs instead.
As for anime and manga, I love the style and MCs of stuff like Akagi and One Outs, but I'd have never discovered that unless somebody pointed them out to me.
I second this, especially your pic.
I personally separate my life to pre-Subahibi and post-Subahibi periods, as reading it has completely changed how I view the world. It taught me to appreciate life much more (or rather in a different way) than I used to and also be more honest with myself. It may have a similar effect on you, or it may do nothing if it’s not your kind of thing, but one thing is clear — you’ve got to read it even if it’s the last thing you do.
My life has been an ongoing quest to discover life-changing works of fiction, and despite having gone through thousands of books, movies, games and the like, I have yet to find anything to even rival Subahibi. I’m honestly getting goosebumps just remembering it.
berserks legitimately good though
The superior mode is whatever was the original.
look at this contrarian kid
I like all. Also shouldn't her mouth be lower?
Berserk
The prose of translated LN/VNs is too jarring for me to enjoy. Feels like reading something written by a teenager. I'm sure they would be better in the context of the original Japanese, but Im not about to learn moon for that
That's what people who never tried more than one LN\VN usually say.
A lot of it has to do with nostalgia
