>EoE really is good agree. >Too bad the anime is unwatchable garbage I did not watch the anime since 2003 or something like that when I first watched it.

I was more interested what you think the strangeness of evangelion will look like to people who daily watch more strange movies.

"The general zapped an angel" from Karel Thole. I don't think that Anno intentionally plagiarized anything. If anything I think that fact that the seemingly unintentional symbolism is so clearly shared amongst artists is indicative of an unconcious, collective symbol library of forms
>"The general zapped an angel" from Karel Thole interesting to know.

That's literally when Shinji "killed" God-Rei

Giant rei was created with the power to make instrumentality happen, then shinji said fuck instrumentality to Rei and then Rei collapsed
Benjamin Hernandez
Only what is instrumentality ?

worth mentioning that anthology had several covers, not just that one, and that is completely dissimilar to what happens in the titular story. its in vietnam, not an apocalyptic red sea, and the angel isn't actually dead. It wakes up at the end of the story, takes a long hard look at the general that shot it down while in a hypermurder frenzy of gunning down vietcong, then decides he's just not worth it and fucks off without killing him

In short, ouroboric incest, being subsumed back into the great mother and reverting back into a formless thing that is self sustaining and continous. In the world of forms, we are given light to contracst ourselves from others and our surroundings in order to identify oneself as individual and thus give limits and definition to your conception of self. Conciousness arrises from being aware of your "otherness" so instrumentality was erasing that barrier to give up conciousness because it is painful
