I just finished rewatching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood for the third time. It's a solid 9/10 show. Not exactly deep or subversive, but easily the best the entire shonen genre has to offer. It's pretty much the LOTR of anime. Very well made, has a solid story, lovable cast, and so much rewatch value.

Come on, it's not that bad.

Nobody gives a shit and I hate the annoying retarded MC.

This isn't the MAL review section, faggot.

I liked the show and I agree with you. The most annoying part was how even after knowing what his father went through and after what he did to literally save the entire country he still talks shit to him.

He barely met him three times in the entire show, and life long anger + abandonment issues, don't go away overnight. He met him once before he knew anything, and was angry with him. Then they met around episode 40, and he heard the truth then. After that, they were either reluctantly working together, or separated, as his dad went to challenge Father solo. And when they were together again, both of his sons supported him, in holding back Father's attack.
I mean, what did you expect? For Ed to drop a life long grudge, and go "kyaa I love you daddy!", a minute after he heard the truth? He got there, but it took a bit of time.

It's average at best. 2003 was better

>2003 was better
Really? Why?

Are you new to anime?

Not really. Why would you think that? I am just currently rewatching some stuff.

I can't wait for all the double digit IQ 03retards to infest this thread and tell you how their emo and edgy version was better even though the writing becomes trainwreck garbage Naruto tier after it went to fillers.

Oh, there we go.

Better directing, better visuals, better pacing, less generic story and ending.

>The shounen genre
Kill yourself

Ignore him. Any Forums doesn't have taste, they're just contrarians who go against whatever is popular, whether it's good or bad. Brotherhood is #1 on MAL? That means we must hate and like the garbage version of 2003 because "muh secret club". It's extra funny how their complaints about Brotherhood are trivial things like "muh bright colors" and "muh slapstic comedy that lasts 10 seconds", yet the ignore the insane amounts of plot holes in the inferior version of 2003. I bet all these guys haven't rewatched it once.

yep, you cant really criticize this show without sounding like an absolute edgelord

I sort of don't want to watch the 2003 version. It has an incredibly insecure and defensive fanbase, the things I know about it (the half robot guy, them ending up in nazi Germany, and etc) all sound dumb, and from what I remember, it's written by the same emo asshat, who did Eureka 7 AO. I just don't feel any need to watch it.

What do you find so funny about the alligator face?

>Better directing, better visuals, better pacing, less generic story, and ending.
Wrong, the whole plot feels like filler and only starts moving towards end, it definitely doesn't have better pacing, the visuals are ok but it's not something that carries the anime. Less generic story? It's still the shounen ending. They accomplished their goal

Poor OP must have brain damage or smth.

It literally didn't bother me. It seems incredibly autistic and dumb, to get bent out of shape over some random gag.

I dislike how many gags and jokes were shoved into the series it spoils a bit of what made the series so good which was a down to earth grimness but also wholeheartedness

I preferred the 2001 version if I'm honest even with its less than a worthwhile adaptation of the series I much preferred the tone balance of that show and how it mixed in the comedy without it overwhelming the darker parts that give the series that tangible despair

FMAB is like a 7.8 its good and well crafted but it doesn't really match any of the enjoyment I have for FMA as a series
