The easiest way to tell a true anime enthusiast from a normalfag bandwagoner is to ask them who made their favorite anime.
If they are like ''I think k-on was made by the people at kyoto animation but I don't really know their names'' you can immediately discard anything they have to say.
If instead they are like ''well logh was made by Ishiguro Noburo who's really a big deal when it comes to anime, he was the creating force behind Macross which I didn't really care much for but I thought his short action OVA megazone 23 was really good'' you know they know their shit.

>true anime enthusiast
Shut the fuck up.

I couldn't possibly care less about who made the anime I like. They might as well have manifested out of thin air as an act of God for all I'm concerned. All I care about is the anime itself. As anyone should.

Ishiguro was a good boy.

Does anyone have that Blue Blazes webm?

Imma big deal among mauritanian anime nigggass n shit watching dat edward yang and dosto Fr

If their favorite anime is logh their opinion is immedately disregarded.

>As anyone should

eh aren't you now projecting as well?

enthusiasts of anything are obviously going to be different from any typical fan who simply enjoys the content for it's intended purpose

someone who buys woodcarvings for the sake of decoration is going to be more different than the guy who buys woodcarvings for the rich history of the craftsman and artist and appreciates the timeline and progression of that artist and even knows how he's deviated from progenitor woodcarvers and taken from them

also who cares about

>to tell a true anime enthusiast from a normalfag bandwagoner

I guess maybe if your looking for fellow enthusiasts but what is this stolen valor?

pff

>true anime enthusiast
sounds pathetic

I can actually tell their level by the shape of their ears.

Or K-On! for that matter

>revealing your powerlevel
you fucking mauritanian retard

>K-on was
bandwagoner immediately detected by this alone

To enjoy anime, or any media in general, you must fall under 1 of 2 extremes. You are either a complete normalfag casual that only knows trends or an autistic enthusiast who knows every miniscule detail, including when the animation director for episode 3 of an original OVA created in 1976 and never released due to copyright complications broke his left hand while riding a bicycle.
If you do not fall into those 2 extremes, your mother will die in her sleep tonight.

no? i dont give a shit who made the anime. I like it's because it's good. I just give all anime a try and continue watching the good ones.

I have watched over 1000 shows and I can't tell you who any of the directors or seiyuu are. Get fyucked fyaggot ahyuk.

>watch anime since 1992
>too enraptuered by OMG SO COOL to care about things like studio, directors, VAs, etc
>live in japan
>translate whatever manga "seems cool"
>Comiket is cool
>it's 2022
>I know a few VAs names.
>Don't care about directors or studios except I specifically and explicitly hate Shaft/ Shinbo

I've probably seen more anime and manga than all of Any Forums combined.
Don't care who made it
If it's cool, it's cool
If it sucks, it sucks.
LOL U HAV TO KNOW EVERYONE WHO MADE IT IN ORDER TO ENJOY IT! ANONYMOUS SED SO
....ok.

At some point you will start judging anime based on who made it and not on its actual merits though. You will unconsciously dismiss certain flaws or highlight average stuff just because X person made it.

>true anime enthusiast
how sad and pathetic, to take pride in something so insignificant. the suicide hotline is there whenever you need it.

Is the staff member meme-worthy?

If they aren't, then they're not worth remembering.

Very boring opinion. Anime is very often the work of auteurs, and to disregard the people who made the thing is to misunderstand the art and surrounding culture.

haha, lame bait. I'll grant though that I know the authors but only if it's my favoritest anime. Knowing who made it in general is lame, but if it's literally u're favoritest animes, they merit knowing who made them.

I know more about anime and appreciate it much more deeply than you ever will, despite only having watched for half the time () has. Go ahead and be proud of your ignorance though, instead of humbly acknowledging that you're only scratching the surface.

>Anime gate keeping.
>On some petty bullshit.
Is there anything in the world worth less than this? The fact that OP does so just based on trivia is the worst part. It should be something like 'Do you own 6+ anime series' or 'Do you own 50+ vol of manga'. That would be the ideal criteria. OP is such a fucking dumbass, seriously for the sake of the medium kill yourself you worthless sack of meat!

>implying anime are auteur-driven affairs

Yo Mauritanian candidate
Do you still think Obari is good? Have you actually watched any of his anime yet? Are you even able to recognize any of his idiosyncrasies yet or are still just a pretentious retard?

Watching more anime doesn't make you better, it's not interactive. All you have to do is stare at the screen.
It's like people who say they've read a lot of books and then you find out they listen to audiobooks while driving.

>what is Osamu Dezaki, Mamoro Oshii, Miyazaki, Hideaki Anno, Masaki Yuasa, Bonsoir Ikuhara...ec

>if people don't want to memorize names related to shows they don't really care about then they're casuals durrr
shut the fuck up nigger
dogshit thread

spbp

>they don't really care about
He clearly said favorite anime though. Can you even read?

hxh was made by YOSHIHIRO GODASHI

If you're actually interested in the work, and have at least a modicum of intelligence (tall order), it's not a matter of memorization, but rather just understanding what you're seeing. You don't need any memorization to know Imaishi made TTGL and KLK, and you can probably guess he worked on FLCL, just based on the animation style on the screen. When you can see connections, and have some knowledge of the history of the medium, remembering is easy.

I don't give a fuck about directors or the whores that voice the characters

>Imaishi made TTGL and KLK
cringe, I'd just say some studio at Trigger made both. lmao
