it was well received, even though not that many watched it. Some badly drawn episodes and some people didn't like the ending, but overall a pretty good show.
Don't remember what else aired in 2019, so it might have been my AOTY.

I watched about half of it until the quality really started to drop in middle. The icing on the cake was when they allowed this fat fuck onto the project to direct an episode.
Every single time he did an episode for any show it was fucking terrible. I am convinced he must have been some kind of Jeffery Epstein figure within the anime industry, must've showed up to the studio with underage hookers and cocaine or something. Fan reception to every single episode he did was as low as can be, and yet production teams always creamed their pants when they got him to do an episode. It didn't make any sense to me. At least he's dead now.

I really liked cour 1 but my enjoyment tanked afterwards, went from a great show to just an ok one. I liked Hyakki less and less the more body parts he got back, maybe it was intentional.

They are not. They drew all bare feet like that. I'm serious. Official response was that they were honoring the original manga. Truth was... it was much easier to draw. Which is exactly why Tezuka did it in the first place, so they weren't wrong.

Liked it well enough, what I felt weird about it is that it felt rushed, both production wise and writing wise. They were remaking a multiple decades old property, surely they must have had tons of time to really iron out the writing, right? Why did it still feel all over the place?
