HxH plot points

My perception is that Benjamins soldiers are jobbers, Balsamico himself admitted that the soldiers are weaker than hunters, and that hunters have a lot more experience with nen.

He keeps sending them to be slaughtered. Just count how many of them died already - soon he will not have enough soldiers to even fight, and as we ourselves can see he is not the smartest prince - although Balsamico is a good advisor.

If it comes to him fighting people even with all his acquired abilities i highly doubt he would be able to utilise them all effectively. Especially because his soldiers abilities are gimmicky recon or assasination oriented abilities that require a lot of setup - they're not exactly useful in battle.

Next thing i want to talk about is how come Kurapika is so smart? Is it the main character syndrome? Suddenly even experienced hunters like Bisky or even Zodiacs seem retarded compared to him(Mizaistom). I honestly thought Kurapika is gonna get rekt with the useless abilities he has but he's so good at bluffing everyone thinks he's a god.

No way that is an actual manga page. Togashi better switch to light novels cause holy shit. Whatever happened to "Show; do not tell"???

>how come Kurapika is so smart? Is it the main character syndrome? Suddenly even experienced hunters like Bisky or even Zodiacs seem retarded compared to him(Mizaistom).
I also felt the same. Honestly aside from Parison and Ging who left them, the Zodiacs come off as rather pathetic. No wonder Pariston controlled pretty much 80% of the Hunter's association

It's a setup part of the arc. Drawing random picture of Kurapikas fingers to "show" his point would probably take multiple pages. I prefer this to having to wait 20 years for each chapter.

I wouldn't say Kurapika has been portrayed as too smart in this arc. He's screwed up multiple times, and had to be bailed out by a maid. In fairness, the maid would have a much better idea about the personalities involved and the power dynamics. The whole thing about Nen Beasts just seemed like he was panicked, and he knew he had allies among the other prince's bodyguards.

As it stands, the smartest thing he's shown/done is his ability to awaken Nen at a super high speed, relative to what should be expected. Even during his Nen training, he had to be bailed out by Belerainte, as people were getting suspicious. He's keeping things together to a point, but assumptions/luck and the people around him are what's keeping things stable.

Honestly even some of the guards who didn't know nen seem to be smarter than some of Benjamins soldiers and even some of the hunters.

Disagree. In general their knowledge of nen isn't up to snuff with Hunters because it's an insular country versus a society of nen wielding elites with some a lengthy history. However, the top tiers among the guards pretty clearly demonstrate competency. More could step up as time goes on, but it's pretty safe to say that Furykov, Babimyna, Rihan, and Balsamilco are up there as far as nen goes. Furykov especially has observations on nen that are completely unique to him.

Yes but he somehow due to ability or luck(can't really tell) made the circumstances favorable to him.

It's a combination of both, of course. If Shimano had decided to leave when she had the chance, Kurapika would maybe have had one shaky ally in Tubeppa, and the 3rd prince's ire. He might not have had a leg to stand on when it came to offering Nen classes to everyone. He also had the ability to seize on opportunities that presented themselves to him.

Furykov would've died if he wasn't saved by benjamin. He would definitely have shot Cammy and died. Do you really think he's that smart?

Only one of them who seems really smart is Balsamico.

>Balsamico himself admitted that the soldiers are weaker than hunters, and that hunters have a lot more experience with nen.
And then we see how a bunch of Benjamin's guys are really competent at using and knowing about nen. Furykov can tell if someone is a nen user just on their eyes and reacted to being shot in an instant to not only survive, but offset the bullet site. Rihan is capable of deducing a lot about people's abilities to the point that it's his own. Bambiyna has a respectable en size which covers most of these suites, and presumably he's not the only soldier capable of doing this in benjamin's entourage. And Balsimilco himself is super knowledgeable of nen and also ate a bunch of bullets without even flinching.

Their worst showing was Vincent but other than that they have handled themselves as good as I'd expect the HA to operate in this situation. The other soldiers that died did so to completely unknown or absolutely powerful abilities used on them.

>they're not exactly useful in battle.
But they are useful when you are trying to assassinate people which is the whole point. This isn't total war, getting caught will automatically result in a soldiers execution or even Benjamin's disqualification.

>t is how come Kurapika is so smart?
People already mentioned this but he's gotten rally lucky this arc and had a bunch of help.

Kurapika fucked up when he used Emperor's Time to do recon lol. didn't even get any useful info

>Do you really think he's that smart?
Characters not having absolute knowledge of a situation and potentially making a bad call doesn't mean they aren't still smart or capable. Also Furykov has already been defined as being pretty confrontational given he wanted any of the hidden nen users to pick a fight so he could "invoke his right to self defense".

>And then we see how a bunch of Benjamin's guys are really competent at using and knowing about nen.
Yes but they are also over-confident. Especially the guy who was assigned to Cammy and instantly got got.

Furykov also was nagging babimyna on to do stuff even though they had no clue who has what abilities. Made him seem really impatient and stupid in that instance.

With that much dialogue He should just finish the fucking story as a light novel.

Assuming the first "act" of the succession war is over, that being the death of 2 princes so far, what event do you think will mark the end of the next act?
In my opinion it'll be the phantom troupe getting up to the top floor, as Hisoka reveals himself.

You're looking like Mr. Fantastic with that reach. Is everyone who has ever killed a nen user an idiot now because they didn't check to make sure their nen wasn't a post-mortem revival technique? Furykov has several pages dedicated to thinking shit only he knows about nen. He's the only one in the nen class who knows the killer because he's the only one that knows the pupil trick, even.

reach? A prince coming at you with a gun in a state of Zetsu is not suspicious at all right? Yes i wouldn't say shit if she wasn't in zetsu you can't check for everyone having post-mortem. But this situation literally screams that she wants people to attack her.

>Especially the guy who was assigned to Cammy and instantly got got.
Overconfident people don't realize they are in a catch 22 situation, assume the worst, and still go through with it. Overconfident people don't make sure to fullfill their conditions on a fresh corpse, they would gloat over having killed their target.

First, there's a big assumption in how Furykov even planned to approach the situation. Benjamin told them not to attack her period, that doesn't mean his deduction would be murder. Secondly, her using Zetsu is still not cause for immediate hesitation against killing her. It's still an incredibly niche power and the only example in the entire series to date, while the knowledge of counteractive nen which would want to abuse zetsu could extend in a number of ways. To Musse's benefit since you tried talking bad on him, he knew the risks and took it because he could give his life to shed some light on her potential power if he did end up failing. It's why he bothered marking a corpse after shooting her.
