Personally I am fine with GO Rush being a sequel or an AU.
The thing I would hate the most is a prequel because prequels tend to introduce retcons out the ass. Not to mention you already know the end result and it all feels pointless. Sequels can introduce retcons to but at least we don't know the end result.
